my bamboo was doing great i got him as an egg and hatched him... he lived for a year till 1 day i gave him to my brother and he forgot to turn the chiller on... 120 degrees = death...

id say go with any coral cat sharks... marbled cat sharks are nice also... they only grow to about 2 feet as an adult good luck!!!

I have(2)- 4' nurse sharks that get to big quick(always buying bigger tanks). so stay away from them.Nobody wants them when they get big.
Go to Country Critters out on Long Island. Has baby hammer head sharks ($1000 each). they are only 10'' long. I still think 500gal is to small for a swimming shark. How long is your tank? As far as a bamboo shark that might be better b/c does not need room to swim as much.

I had a leaoperd shark for almost 3 years. It did get to big for the tank, but I talked to a few people from the shark research center in Sandy Hook, NJ. And they agreed with me that in the summer months it would be ok to release the shark back into the wild. I fed it only live food and they also tagged the shark prior to release. Well the shark lived as long as the tag was on it from what we knew. The tag released when it was supposed to and we still assume the shark is fine. Stay away from black tip sharks they get really big quick.
