that is indeed a Turbinaria frondens (referred to as Pagoda, Turban, Vase, Bowl, or Scroll Corals) this particular turbinaria are most defiantly sps but sometimes this and turbinaria reniformis which has smaller smaller polyps, with calices being only 1.5 to 2mm are classified ass lps..... is who makes up this stuff anyway :splitspin

These photos show what the (scroll) Turbinaria looks like when grown out, By the way for those who do not know, The purple with yellow polyps is the rarest color morph of this coral. These pics are not the best and do not do the coral justices. Hope this helps out

Not contradicting myself at all, notice it scroll was in qoutes. I wrote it that way so people that do not know can connect the coral pictured to the frag Gancho is selling. I'm trying to help him out. Sorry if you got confused Ozone.

Turbinaria frondens (yellow scroll) will almost always turn purple when given enuff light it is one of the most adaptable corals availible if it was taken from shallow waters and put under low light it will grow vertical or vase/ bowl like as like all the deep water Turbinaria and deep water ones placed high up will grow in a plate formation

Almost true but not 100%, Most of these corals are brown and will turn yellow when put into light. The purple is a rare color and is becoming easier to find as people frag them and sell them. The particular coral in question grows more in flat/sheet form. This one does not curl or cup like most others no matter the water depth.
