I am pretty new to the sps and was wondering why the polyps are so extended at night (obv to feed) but during the day they are not extended as much, is something wrong or is this normal?

+1 on the oyster feast.
i rotate with reef snow, oyster feast, reef chili, reef pearls, and coral amino. not sure if any of them are any better than the other....i believe in varieties......same thing with fish food.

I will say this--- you don't have to feed an SPS dominated tank to be very successful, and in fact, I don't recommend it to inexperienced hobbyists like the OP ( not a slight, but just the reality that you are still in the beginning learning phases of the coral reef game).People were keepiing full blown Acro tanks long before all these wonderful new coral feeds were available ( and I do think some of them are very good).

BUT, they are not necessary for success and until you have a solid handle on water quality and general husbandry, I think they should be avoided. Just feed your fish well. The corals will be fine.

prattreef is absolutely correct. fish poop is the best/greenest/cheapest feed for the sps.

however in my own case.....i love buying magic in a bottle. i love convincing myself that the next best snake oil is the thing my tank needs. i love spending money on nitrate/phosphate in a bottle and dump them in......then spend even more $$$ on ways of removing them.....hahaha.

be honest... don't most of us at one time or another do this???
