Anyone run a skimmerless SPS tank

Sean, you can read what I said carefully as well and take note that I did not bash you nor do I intend to. You advice on this website has been solid and I find myself reading your posts more often than you would think.
As you can see from my previous post, I said that

, which is false and you know that. I did not attack any of your other statements. I simply explained why I feel your comment was wrong. I thought you would be able to figure out what I was referring to since it came right after your post, but I do see how it can get confusing to talk on line.
Yes, you do state time and time again that you do not advise that the hobbyist does this, but we advise many things that we feel are necessary and are not bought because so and so goes without one and his tank looks fine... because so and so never posts their failures. You are very successful and some may sit and say "if he does it, so can I" not realizing the work involved.

You may be giving some the impression that they have a few spare hours a day and will be able to maintain such a tank.

. "You may" be being the key words... not you are.
You brought up the tap water issue. No one asked.
I will stand by one comment I made though. Your store sells skimmers. If you do not use them on your tank, why sell them? You'll gladly sell them to someone else.
So touchy on this website. A little criticism or correction gets turned into a bash. oh well... PC is killing me.

The reason there's no skimmer on the tank has been stated twice in this thread already. Also, I've been to many LFS with items on the shelves that are not in use on their tanks (display or sale). That's seems like an unfair statement.

Chris I must say I do enjoy your posts as well

As far as equipment I don't think you understand what I'm saying. Any piece of equipment someone says you must have (ie. skimmer, U.V., ozone ect.) someone else can prove not needed to keep your animals alive. Also if you don't understand what every piece of equipment does to benefit your aquarium. I know that I don't need a skimmer but eventually will since I want to add more fish and such to the aquarium. As far as tap water yes I did add that to rub it in a little for shock value but I busted my a$$ on the tank the first two months to keep it in check. I still use tap water because I'm having a little trouble with my R.O. unit so I will suffer a little longer with it.

Also I do use skimmers on my tanks this is the only marine system that doesn't have a skimmer in my shop. Like I said before I just haven't decided what to get yet. In case you haven't noticed a lot is going on right now in the industry concerning skimmers and I'm going to be making a careful decision on what I want to do.
