I beleive Anthony Calfo reccomends this method also, I have mounted sps this way with good results, they usually form a better base and tend to form 2 tips one at each end so when growing out it will form a colony quicker.

I've been mounting many sps on their sides for a long time. The ones that I've found that do best are the monti's. The acros don't have the same growth patterns.

Tony, LMK how that vid is. I'm not into bogging down my dinosaur here with a vid that large.

Thanks,
R

In the video, Eric mentions, he and A. Calfo discussed this method.

He also gave me some ideas on fragging LPS

deanos i have to give it to u on this one, great find on that video... he showed some neat ideas that actually work and promote faster coral growth (well if your tank is up to par) u will see faster coral growth with the methods on that video...

he showed how to frag almost every coral... people who do fragging especially the new people new to the fragging thing were proper protection he also talked about diseases that are easy to catch when fragging most of these lovely corals we have in our tank... i loved the video....

The best way to mount an SPS frag is to hang it from a string (fishing line) within the water column! 3D water movement with 270 degrees of potential outgrowth. It is what you would call EXTREME SPS mounting!

I'm surprised the SPS:pimp: hasn't mentioned it yet,!
