Stylo shedding shiny green particles?

Today i used my turkey baster on a green stylophora to clean it out. As soon as i started blowing water into it, lots of green particles came out, I thought maybe it was the polyps and maybe the coral was dying. But that wasn't the case, after about a minute the green stylophora polyps were fully extended, but the water had this shiny green particles floating all over. What was that?

From what I can tell It wasn't algae, it looked like pieces of polyps,
