Hi all,

Is anyone keeping Acropora suharsonoi or other SPS that have very long axial corallites? Frag availability? Can you give me any information on their captive requirements?

Thanks,

Steve

I have an "A.caroliniana" (best guess) that can have long axial corallites given relatively placid water movement about it. In stronger flow, it looks more compact as most SPS do.

Thanks Len,

How much flow do you think you have running over this coral? Is it uni-directional, multi-directional, or chaotic?

Thanks,

Steve

Steve, it was under mild, chaotic flow. Nowadays it's under much stronger flow (usually laminar) so it's grown more compact then it was. But I've seen frags of it in other tanks where it grows long tubular coralites (even longer then those in my picture).

In regards to your PM: Yes, I do sell frags from time to time. You can email me at [email protected] if you're interested. I don't have much available at the time, but feel free to email me.

I'm not completely sure what this one is and obviously it's not quite ready to be fragged yet but I have it in pretty strong and alternating water flow as well as under good direct lighting (250W MHs in Spiderlight reflectors). Seems to be 'happy' there.

I had an A. echinata that did well under medium/high light, medium flow. It was quite a while ago, but I think I got it from tropicorium.
