This has far outdistanced anything else as my favorite coral. The color in person is simply amazing. There are like six or seven very distinct colors, and they are not muted at all.
This first pic was taken 11/3/2005. At this point the coral is approx. 3"x3", and the rim is just starting to develop.
This picture was taken 1/1/2006 (two months later), and you can see how much it has grown, and how the rim colors are developing. At this point it is about 4"x4".
This last picture was taken today, 6/18/2006, 5.5 months later. This shows how dramatic the colors have become, and clearly shows that this is an amazing coral. The size of the coral is now an impressive 6"x8".
Just for giggles...these are pics of my true Cespitularia sp (aka African Blue Xenia) that I got as a one stalk frag from Atlantis in Fen 06. One stalk is sold at $120. I bought two. Four months later each frag has grown nicely, and there are 12 or 13 big stalks on each frag. There are also a few small daugher stalks that have split off. This is a pic of one frag as it appears 4 months later.
