The upward growth of the nodules is the defining charateristic of this piece. It's more likely to be a M. tuberculosa or M. aquituberculata than an M. capricornis.
I'll be interested to see if my clone gets the nudule's that are typical of the true Leng Sy's.
I think it has more character than all of the caps that I have had in the past. Allthough the picture you posted of the mother colony that it came from certainly does look like a cap. Strange how differently corals grow from one tank to another.
It's possible, as you likely have more flow than I did.
That piece you got from me, was sold to me as the True Leng Sy from a guy in Virginia. As it grew out, it was pretty clear that it was a clone. The same guy had also claimed that the solitaryensis he sold me was the Tyree version. I'm starting to doubt that as well :x
