SPS question on polyps

My staghorns polyps are sticking way out lately. All of my sps seem to be happy since removing the leather from the tank. Is the coral trying to tell me something by having its polyps extended out so far? Like should I add more light, less light, more plankton?

A few years ago, I used to have a 60 gal in my office. I kept a sea pen in there, and there was a coworker of mine who took great interest in the fact that it emerge from the sandbed every morning as the light came on. She did not file any harassment law suit before she left 5 yrs ago.
