I've got a 13 month old 150g SPS tank with 1 dersa clam. My current stock includes the following: 7 chromis (1"-1.5"), fridimani (1.5"), flame angel (1.5"), lawnmower blenny (3"), cinnamon clown (1.5"), yellow tang (3"), and blonde naso (6"). Also have 15-20 hermits and snails each, and 3 shrimp (1 blood and 2 cleaner). Been real lucky so far, the yellow tang is the only one that shows any sort of aggression at all, everyone else is pretty passive. Here's a list of some of the fish I'm considering: kole tang, copperband bf, dragon goby, small singapore angel, small niger trigger (these are all currently available locally). I'm not opposed to moving the yellow tang to another system if he is really limiting my options.

Do any of you more experienced reefers have any comments or suggestions to the above list, or could possibly recommend something that you've had good luck with. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Im not a more experience reefer but I'd say choose wisely your tank is almost reading full. Niger triggers are not considered reef safe if that helps.

I think you're right, I'm just about at the "comfortable" limit. I'm thinking maybe one or two more small fish, or one medium sized addition (if I move the YT). I've read that some have had luck with Nigers (and a few other triggers) in a reef, as long as they are added small. But I believe the key word is "luck", just one of the fish under consideration....

i think the singapore angel will clash with the flame angel.
i think the niger will eat your shrimp(atleast).
some say the copperband will nip at corals.
it's my understanding that dragon gobies just sit there and do nothing.
kole tangs are awesome fishes but you may have to remove the yellow tang.

i agree with cryo the sixline wrasse is a wonderful fish and i like how they look to boot. mabe a flasher or fairy wrasse might be cool to. i am also partial to anthias but there supposed to be a pain to feed sometimes, other than that i find them very visualy apealing.

Well, I have a dragon goby and I like him, he has a couple spots in my tank where he likes to go and dig. I have heard some people have a problem with them because they will swim to the top of the tank and spit out sand that then falls on their corals (mine doesn't do this).

All in all though, I think a six line is the way to go. A great looking fish that is the definition of reef friendly.

well i would definitly be careful with adding another angel since the other one is established already and with the trigger may nip at or eat shrimp and snails other wise pretty safe to corals and tank mates the tang is risky but keep an out for your clam sometimes the angels will nip at the mantle so will the blenny the copperbanded butterfly would be a nice addition but sometimes they are hard to acclimate but if you can get him acclimated it is a great fish i have one thats been in my 120 gal. tank for 2 1/2 years now.

Adding another angel would be risky (more aggression).

I was glad we got rid of our Niger trigger in our 155g fowlr tank - given that it was the biggest fish in the tank and was the boss - it had an annoying habit of nipping me when every time I put my hand or arm in the tank.

Very cool fish as it followed you around like a puppy.

I agree with the above posters that smaller fish would be good additions. Firefish, dartfish, and jawfish would make for interesting additions as their slender shape would add a little more diversity.
