My first tank thread..

Just set this up last saturday. I used rock and water from a long established tank, so I was able to start adding livestock right away.

The lighting is EcoTech Radion LED. So far, I couldn't be happier with them.
The sump and skimmer (not pictured) are both Precision Marine, I'll probably get a new skimmer soon though. I'm also using the Blue Life FX filter media, the tank is crystal clear so far and no phosphates!

I have a RO system set up for auto top-off. I just need to get a few small pieces of live rock to cover the rest of the pipes.


It's going to be mostly SPS from here out.

Very nice! I like your rock work, especially on how you are hiding the plumbing.

Just one minor concern: Your rocks appear to be sitting up against the glass. How do you plan on cleaning the glass?

the rocks are only really resting on the glass in the corners. It's right up against a wall on the right and an entertainment center on the left. So you can't see that anyway. All the visible parts will be able to be cleaned easily

Well, I got a clean up crew in there now. Also, one Banggai cardinal. I had a mystery wrasse, but died after a day.

I'll be getting a nice pair of true percs. I want to keep it simple on fish. I'll get some blood shrimp, maybe a couple linkia stars.

I'm getting the percs and some ORA frags on wednesday. I'll be sure to add pics.

Well, all my ORA frags have bleached or are bleaching now! My water couldn't be more perfect. I bought a nice acro pictured here, from a LFS and its doing great. So is everything else I've added. I've posted some new pics of some of the additions. You can see my orange linkia, the blue one and my 2 cleaner and 2 blood shrimp like to hide in the rocks

looks good so far just one lil concern is the overflow its a disaster waiting to happen... just letting you know...

being in the hobby a LONG time i have been through many situations. with that type of overflow although it might not happen or it may but if something clogs that up your water is going to rise and then if it get clogs up even more guess what happens alot of water on your floor. im just letting you know i had the same thing on my 75 gallon and i caught it while it was happening.

Trust me, I know..in 25+ years in the hobby I've seen it all go wrong.

There is an intake screen there so nothing can get in the overflow and clog it, it was the first thing I did..lol

stuff can clog that intake screen thats what i would worry about lol as you know anything can happen to anything at anytime.

yeah, i check my tank all the time, plus i clean the screen once a week anyway...it should be fine. luckily I've never had any problems happen on any tank. When I plumb something, I plumb by thinking about what could go wrong..and go from there.

So, we'll see..lol
