guys i don't know what's up i may have to upload the pics again.

some sad news my little male cown died yesterday. he was so weak he got caught up by my seio. when i noticed it was to late. the female looks great. she's hosting the rbta. i'm so happy. but i'm gonna have to move some more corals away from the rbta. that thing is huge.

randy the rockwork is waiting for your approval. :wink1:

there is a geometric and a pinkbar goby that i would like to move to my 28bow but they are gonna be hard to catch. i use the siphon method. it's a good thing they are tiny.

so my fish will consist of:
2 pair of reidi sea horse
1 citrinis clown goby
maybe a pipe fish

i wonder what macro i could put in the tank. something that will cover nicely but will be easy to trim or remove. i've had some macro hair algae in this tank that comes right off the rock in clumps. wish i didn't remove it in the first place.

Jon,

Rockwork looks great. I think this will be a fine home for seahorses. You still need to address the hitching post issue. What are your plans? Macro would work. Gorgonians or some easy to maintain branching corals like M. digitata. I would leave the geometric and pinkbar they will be good tankmates.

Is there a skimmer? carbon? I ask simply because you are going to need to feed the crap out of the tank and you need to deal with the waste somehow.

Lookin' good.

Randy

thanks randy i was hoping to hear from you. i still have two or three frags of zoos in the tank. i would really like for them to grow. this will add color to the tank. as for macro i know there are some that can be a headache and can take over pretty quickly. any suggestions? something that won't suffocate my zoos.

i'm sure i could keep some photosynthetic gorgs or do you suggest ones that i have to target feed.

i do have a HOB remora and aquafuge which is loaded w/ pods. i still want to take out the hawk and pinkbar. i'd like for the seahorses to get as much food as possible(being they are my first) w/o any competition.

Not sure about Macro species they do tend to take over. What lighting are you using? I recommned the photsynthetic Gorgs. the non- tend to died off after awhile. Think about carbon too-- between Macro and mysis the water yellows pretty quickly. Looks like you are good to go:) I'm really glad to see you have taken the time to try to do this right. Let me know before you purchase your horses. Randy

currently i have a DE 250w w/ pfo ballast. i'm not sure what bulb it has(came w/ the fixture. pretty old looks very yellow) i will probably put a 20k xm.

i use 400w 15k xm on my 40br.

77-78 is what my tank stays @ normally w/ the MH on. my room has been cool so far but in the summer i may need to put the a/c for a couple hours a day. maybe i could put three sheets of starfire under the light. i think that's what it's called. every two weeks i could remove a sheet of it until they adjsut to the light. that was another reason for going 20k. 10k would be way to bright

unfortunately my 36" t5 fixture doesn't fit in the canopy.

maybe in july or august. i'll be in florida on july. so most likely first week of august.

i have seen the reidi in black, yellow and orange. drs fostersmith is kind of expensive $70 for the yellow and $60 for the black. randy remind me why i shouldn't get the black from FT for $30. :biglaugh:
