Eric 57g Deep Blue Rimless Upgrade

Hi Guys,

So the day is finally here, I've upgraded to my 57g Deep Blue Rimless! I am going to break down my Edge 12g next week in case anyone is interested. So heres some pics of the process:

-painted the old stand and made sure it was level:

- cut a piece of melamine on the bottom and then sealed it:

-awesome sump I got from JonnyJ:

-got my tank!

-got shelving brackets from homedepot and painted them black for the lighting:

-sump is coming along nicely:

-24 hr water test:

-added salt and mixing the water in the tank:

-added the sand:

- mounted my reefbreeders.net controllable LEDS!

-added my rockwork:

Be careful when you do add frags with led. I would slowly acclimate then up to their final positions.

Rock solid point!!! Always from sandbed and up slowly , I can take days to situate frags

Thanks Pete. For my return tubing. I have an eheim 1260 hooked up to green eheim tubing. I also have a check valve. I bought all of them from fishtown USA. Heres a better pic:

Updates *12/8/12*

Well I added all my live stock and most of my coral. I plan on moving alot of my coral around and gluing it down once I'm happy with the placement. Here's some updated pics. I really like the way the live rock looks.

3 emerald crabs
1000's of pods (Thanks REEFS2GO!)
Assorted hermits and snails for clean up crew

I will update the coral list when its done.

Where did u get the hose and did u use clamps in the end? And why don't u submerge the pump Jw.

The union allows you to take apart and seperate two pipes or tubes that is great. The check valve is good to have also thought just incase water try's to bck flow in to your sump.

Nice tank just got a 57 myself. Which reef breeders fixture is that?

I think they call it the Photon16. They are strong as hell. I put it a foot above the water and only run it at 50% max intensity.
