Okay so here I go again with another build. It's gonna be a Deepblue 80 gallon rimless tank. Picked up the tank about a month ago, was undecided on the stand design and went with a very minimalistic stand (didn't want any mouldings just a plain stand, boxlike) Also the wife is not a fan of flamboyant looking stands, lol. Anyways, I'm at the first stages now, so just a tease. Had the sump build by Maximum Reefs (thanks to Rafy) It measures 36 by 20 by 20. I have pretty much all the equipment from my previous tank, MP40, return pump, 2 reactors,etc.. I sold my AI Vegas and I'm leaning towards Fathom LED's. Will be doing the plumbing hopefully over the weekend. I'll keep you guys updated. Any comments or suggestions will be highly appreciated. Thanks.

Update:

I received 90 lbs. of Tropic Eden Mini Reef flakes, ESV carbon, NP Biopellets, locline, nozzles, bulkheads and I forgot to get a check valve (F$&k!!!) I was gonna work on the plumbing this afternoon, oh well! Anyone knows where I can get a check valve locally? I'd prefer something with unions if possible. I checked HD and Lowes, no luck. Thanks.

This is the plumbing design my friend and I are going by. My friend designed it using Google Sketchup. The green dot represnts the check valve and the red squares are going to be the ball valves. Here we go!!

No need for a check valve as already mentioned by albano. Its a fail point that you do not want. Out of all my tanks and all my years of reefing ive never used a check valve once and every tank did great.

I hear you bro, I always used them for piece of mind. My sump is so big that in an event of a power outage the backflow is minimal, also I employ syphon breaks and I make sure to position the return loclines the right way. Thanks.
