Thanks!! Well I really didn't have a choice with this sump unless I didn't do a refugium. But I'm too lazy to hook up my ATO I've had for a year so I can keep the water level stable so when I manual top off the skimmer does go a little crazy on me sometimes. Other than that I see no problem

Yea I think that was one of the issues people stated your pumps draw from each other causing fluctuation. Plus whatever beneficial your fuge added might be taken out by the skimmer.
I just bought a used pro flex 1 for me cube yesterday. Having trouble deciding what I want to do now, since my skimmer won't fit in the middle

So what's the best order.... skimmer, fuge, return pump?

From what I've gathered, you can do it whichever, but most people

Drain>Skimming>Fuge>Return
or
Drain>Partial to skimming and part to Fuge> return

Then there was dual drain
1 drain > skimming
1 drain > fuge
then both to return

These were the most common

Skimmer in return wasn't as common, most people have issues with the pumps running against each other, or "negating" the benefits of what the Fuge added.

Everyone has their own way but I guess it's whatever works for your system.

Note* blind leading blind here lol

This sump is made for the skimmer to be after the fuge like most sumps. I've never in my years heard of the two pumps effecting anything. The socks catch the crap ,the fuge then does its job and the last part the skimmer cleans and goes right back into Dt fresh and clean. Plus having the skimmer last helps with less clogging in the skimmers pump

I could be wrong just noting what I read. Like I said no idea still trying to put the pieces together but I think I like this article the best and running with this method later http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2008-01/newbie/
