Leak coming from Return

so i finished plumping my tank. I have located 2 leaks though, both of which are coming from the 90degree elbow leading into the tank. the worst one is the 90 elbow on my return. i have used plumbers tape, a mess-ton of silicone, let dry for 2 days and still it leaks. any ideas so to how i can patch that up?:arg::arg::arg:

thought about that, so i went and got another, same issue. its sneaking in from the bottom side.

the only time this happened to me was when the bulk head threads were damaged.

Are you using slip or threaded?

the elbow leading into the tank, is threaded. got it from glass-holes

you need to inspect the threads, if the threads are fine and you are sure all fittings are the same exact size then my only other recommendation is to buy industrial teflon tape.

Home Depot sells household common teflon which is narrow, if that is not working you need wider teflon tape, I had to visit a local plumbing store especialzing in commercial sales to find 5/8" teflon tape.

Dont be shy with using ample teflon tape but if the standard is not working either replace your fittings or get wider teflon tape.
