:happysad:
Well, since the move......things were looking ok but then it started going downhill & corals were not looking good.
I had a few losses & I started to get frustrated.....to the point where I was planning to go FOWL because I barely had tome to deal with the tank & not understaing the problem.
When switching skimmers, I found the problem.
In my previous 65 gal my Euro-Reef's gate valve was above water level, but I still siliconed the **** out of the screw.
I my current sump the water level is higher & the gate-valve was partially submerged.
While ready to wash out the skimmer the silicone ball (that covered the screw) fell right off exposing a very badly rusting screw.
Chips of the screw were falling right off. Even the silicone had rust on it.
Although fish & inverts were / are all in great health, coral color & expansion never really looked good.
Losses:
Various SPS
Blasto collection
Alveopora
Lobo (making a comeback)
I've been doing WC's & will be adding "Poly Pads" tonight.
Time to come back strong!
I also lowered my Lumenarc & added an IceCap fan (with Deanos' assistance), which was way too high, & possibly caused alot of my corals to "stretch" up to the light.
Will keep you guys updated on my mission.
Thanks for the bump-
