Ummmm can we consolidate all of krisen's tank threads into 1 thread and call it "The Krisen Hemmingway Collection"? :lol2:

LoL ya'll are tooo much...but heres what I've decided to do.

Main display is going to be a mere 20g tank with aboutr 25lbs of LR. The sump will be one 29g fuge with a little section for a return pump that will push about 350gph. I'm going to have an additional 30lbs of rock in the refugium.

For flow in addition to the return i was thinking of two Tunze nano 6025's. If anything extra is needed for a 20g, I'll throw on some misc powerheads. Do you guys think with the two tunzes I'll need anymore flow?

Light is going to be a single 175 15k Iwasaki, recommended by Randy :D.

Drain is going to be 1 inch external, with a backup drain for that Just in case situation. Return will more than likely be 3/4th inch into locline.

Shallow sandbed at 1inch and I'll find a way to elevate the rocks. I decided against the foam background becuase I'll probably be losing and inch or two on the back wall in an already small tank.

Salt going with your run of the mill IO.

Anything I forgot? I might actually put in a DSB in the fuge :), when I figure out how to set it up properly so it's actually beneficial.

Wats up Kris! If you need anything shout me a holla, the SPS have really been growing fast and colorful, if you need fraggies shout me a holla.

Yoo Jawwad, I didn't even know you posted on the thread :D. I'll definately give you a shout, its gonna be a little while(like 3 months) before I'm ready lol. Sounds hard to believe seeing as I'm Kris.

Now here's a question, you guys think it would be worth it to dose two part on this tank. Lowes has Pedalow in stock but once it's gone I won't see it again til next year. 50lbs for $18 isn't a bad deal. Should I dose or just let water changes do the job?

I don't know if you have already commited by buying stuff, but, before I moved up here, my tank was a 20. No sump, home made mini-fuge, and a cpr bakpack skimmer. I used a 96w power-quad bulb and I was able to keep damn near everything. I had a Maxima clam that outgrew the space allotted it, a tabletop acro up high that was always being fragged as well as tons of zoos and other softies and LPS. It was a super compact system, took up only the area of the tank footprint +3 inches in back and with a 6gallon water change every week or so, I didn't have to dose that much at all. If space and simplicity are what you are looking for, it may be something for you to consider. HTH

Hey bmb, didn't see ur post til now

At this point most of my purchases have either been completed or arranged. Lightings is going to be 150DE Phoenix 14k with no other supplementation. For right now I'm going to be running skimmer less but might pick up a Remora along the way, depending on how things are going with the routine I have planned. I'm planning to keep water quality a little better by doing 25% water changes weekly.

A 29g fuge should help matters too and is going to be lit on a reverse schedule to help lessen pH swing between night and day. Total water volume in the system should be right around 40g's after displacement from rock and a slightly lower water level in the fuge. A 10g water change weekly should be able to keep me on track.

I'm going to use a doser to dose so thats one less thing I have to remember to do everyday and it should add some more stability to the tank keeping the levels steady. An ATO is now once again on my list of "too get" items so I don't have any salinity swings either.

Pics to come after my bulkhead gets here :D.(Damn USPS:irked:)

Ok I'm really bored so why not show some pics of the oh so little progress I've made.

First pics my external overflow box which remains bulkheadless...

Second and third are the tank from sexy angles. The entired back was covered with acrylic(Thanks Brett for the idea) and the teeth were made using a drill, then a dremel to cut them out.

Last pic is just the refugium empty, thats only half of it though. Mag 5 on the return with plastic screw installed. And look I have a union and valve :D

Wow...I didn't realize that I had never posted a picture with the tank filled. It's been a good 4 and a half months and the tanks doing good. I think it's finally stocked enough to post some pictures. I don't have them right now but tmrw I will.

Thanks to Randy for all he's helped me with. Dave aka white t shirt guy for the cap. Josh for the birdsnest. Scu for the xenia and cap. Ronen for the cleaner, zoas, and ricordia. Jim and Russ for the Cherubs Pygmy that IS eating :teeth:. And last but not least Vic for the green nepthia. The set up came together nice and slow just like i wanted and I havent gotten bored or anything like that like I normally do.

Pics to come. Miraculously I havent changed the rockwork at all since I first put it into the tank.
