The Transom solution

It feels good to give back to the board that provided so much great info during the process!

Thanks for posting the photos here.

After watching a movie in the middle of the night , I came up with the idea of a transom window above the tank.. I thought stained glass would look cool, something not too elaborate. I found a cool piece on ebay and bought it. Then trimed it in the same oak with the same stain as the tank itself. Got some hinges for a toy chest ( the only ones I could find that would work for this application) . Once I mounted it , I knew I made the right choice, not too distracting, yet a nice complement by itself....

Tank by Christmas

Here we are today, with a few fish and a few corals. I am not very happy with my crushed coral right now, so I think that is going to be slowly siphoned out in the next few weeks, but overall I am pretty happy with the way it turned out !

Skimmer question

Thanks Paul!!-- That Deltec is working great!-- I have one question about it , maybe someone has a solution to this one. I took the skimmer apart top to bottom last week ( Deltec ap600 ) because , one, it has been a while and two, because after about three days of skimming great, the water level drops in the tube to below the collection cup. After the cleaning , the same thing happens, it skims great, then a few days later the water level just drops!--- there doesnt seem to be any contributing factor to this, eg.. water changes, lights on , feeding etc... anyone have any ideas??-- or could it be I just need to clean it more frequently??
