are those mangrove trees. couldnt we all just plant one in our display tank

yeah you def can but you just have to consider the lighting placement and make sure you have access to your the leaves so they dont drop in your tank water and I have been grooming them once in a awhile and use RO water to spary on the leaves and make sure they don't get a lot of salt creep on them! Order away and start the mangrove farm brotha! Looks cool too.

Here are a few more pics and updates. I added a few clowns in the tank. I'm going to let the algae grow on the sides just to give that cool enclosed Fuge look (mainly preference). CoPods are everywhere in the tank but it's hard to get on camera.

Do NOT increase, dosing, just stay there.

I just tested again and nitrates/phosphates are the lowest they have ever been which is awesome but now that's going to be an issue for the display refugium so what are your thoughts. I got to week 5 dosing 25.6 ml a day. Should I stay exactly at that number or go back to week 3 numbers around 17.6 mls?

No3 - HR 5ppm
Po4 - HR .1

Stay at 25 ml. dosing , for few weeks , if go less then 5 ppm....mean the refuge start to be more efficient....then , dose less , until refuge take over. Stop and got some easy SPS , see how you handle ,then.......you decide......first......keep some nice LPS.....some SPS.....then ...you, decide.

Yeah so I actually already did that. I have 4/5 SPS frags in there now that seem to be doing well. flow is my biggest issue but I think I have them in a nice spot.

As promised I will keep you guys posted on the progress of the tank. The mangrove rootes are growing like crazy and the fish are already swimming through them! Really cool if anything. Nitrate and phosphate levels are dropping too so I'm able to feed my main display on more of a regular basis which is great. This way I can get an additional fish or two without worrying about aggressiveness.

I'm also seeing alot of copods on the side of the glass since I'm not cleaning out the sides. Here are some pics i took today.

very nice how are you holding up the Mangrove,s

Thanks boss. So I have had mangroves several other times but this is the first time I'm happy with their placement. when the mangroves came in they mentioned that I could use Styrofoam so I did just that. Then I cut a bunch of wholes in there and wrapped up the Styrofoam after the mangroves were in there with some plastic mesh. Then I just used several small zip locks that really helped the mangroves stay intact. The goal is to removed the foam, mesh and ziplocks once the mangrove roots hit the sand but it's doing the job for now. Here are a few pics I posted when I first did this.

Best part of this hobby is being creative so have fun with it. Good luck.

Here are a few update pictures of the Fuge. I turned off the UV sterilizer and the algae started to grow a on the side of the tank which I like the look of but the main display seems to be fine. Mangroves are continue to grow well.

I want to thank "Mike NY" for his generous offer of the dragon breath Macro algae and Cheeto! This totally changed the look of the Fuge and his SPS reef tank that's been running for 27 years plas is something else!
