So a lot of you have seen my system and I have always wanted to do a stand alone system. So after 6 months of planning and acquiring equipment for it I am ready to start. I will be pushing just shy of 400 gallons! I will be emptying the 80 gallon DB and the 93 cube.

It will consist of 2 tanks
#1 96 x 30 x 12
#2 72 x 30 x 15

Custom Sump
60 x 24 x 18

Return pumps
Tanks - each tank will get a Varios 8
Accessories will be ran on a Varios 6

Wave makers
(4) Octo pulse 4 on each

Lighting
Tank 1
(4) Reef Brite Halides 250w
(4) Reef Brite XHO

Tank 2
(1) ATI 60" 8 Bulb T5
(2) Reefbrite 60" XHO

Skimmer
Bubble king ext 250

Calcium reactor
Reef Octopus CR220
Carbon doser regulator

Reactors
Vertex

And so it begins. Cleared out room. Painted floors. Moved ATO containers.

Thank you Marek! One day I will get upstairs done! Having this will allow me to do upstairs right though.

Once I get the 80 Frag out I am putting either a 180 or 150L where that is. Fish only. There are a few beauties I have always wanted but are not reef safe.

That will give me about 500 gallons in one system and 400 in the other.

Looking good mike!!! Last time I was there you were talking about this build!!
I?m building a big system in my basement like you and I was wondering if you did anything special for air exchange? I don?t remember many windows down there correct me if I?m wrong.

Popped in some rear support pieces. Once I get the top plywood on I am sure will be fine. Gonna get some paint on them so it can cure before I lay the pad down on top.

Struggling with what to use. I have found 36 x 90 rolls and 36 x 25 rolls but the 25 is crazy expensive.
