i bought a asm g3 today, from leo. and with help from richie. which i know is probably overkill for my tank. but it will be nice to not have to worry about nutrient's. and since i run a higher bio load. can't wait to see what it does, and the effect on live stock. had a etss reef devil deluxe. which when dialed in is a decent skimmer
ty guys. the aquascaping pic's really dont do it justice. it's really built with alot of cave's. place's for the fish to swim in and out of and to hide and sleep. and pnoy i am gonna have to get on one of those zoa pack's one of these time's to build my zoa collection up
awi it's not as clean as it looks, but a ton of snails and sand sifting star fish. plus alot of flow. but i pay for that cause tank isnt as clear as it could be. and ty guys
OK, now I need to know which snails? I have a bunch of nassarius, and I had two sandsifting starfish. Now I only have one, the other one got into my Iwaki and got chopped up into fish & coral food. The tank looked awesome the next morning.:happysad:
ok after avoiding getting a snail shell out of my drain line { hard plumbed } i finally broke down and cut the pipe. had noticed that my flow had slowed down considerably. and was thinking that this was also one of the reason's i was having trouble with algea. well after cutting pipe out and locating the shell had a nice little growth of algea inside the pipe where it was. so hopefully this help's my tank out overall. and yes i do have the opening for the drain covered now. had cover off for 1 day and ya see what happen's
great looking sps pieces......im still trying to color mine up....:letitallo
i also had a snail crawl into my drain and clogged it.....and i lost gallons of water spilling from my tank....but luckily it was very lightly stocked....
made a eggcrate grill for the overflow and they have been kept out since..
but neways......tank is looking good...and ur T5's look very bright
ok been awhile since i posted on updates on tank. i finally figured out why drain wasn't draining that fast, i origanally had it hard plumbed with about 5 elbows and close to 7 feet in drain total, then i had a snail get caught so i decided to use flew hose since i had to cut the hard plumbing out to get a snail out. so i just spliced the tubing in. drain was going slow. after talking with rstimeout he had asked if return was going into sump and below water level, which it wasn't, but it got me to thinking. so now my drain tube just hang's down into my sump going into a filter sock. my drain flow almost doubled. the bends and angles in the flex hose was causing bubble trap. problem solved. i have also since added 2 1\2 sea swirls to tank and took out one of my modded tunze 6025's. so now i sit and wait to see the benifits or the derade of what i have done. as well i have added alot of sps. my next purchase is going to be a calcium reactor though. if i dont down grade before then
