Tank 6x2x2 180 gallon
Plenum in tank: 1.5" plenum, 3" 5mm CC then 1" olite.
Live rock in tank 250 lbs
Sump 55 barrell with 6" 5mm CC and 1" oolite
Refugium 58 gal with 8 gal walled off for siphon surge back into the main tank. 2" 5mm CC, 2" 1-2mm CC, 1" oolite. 15 lbs live rock, Caulerpa, and a few other misc plants.
Lighting Have just switched from 2 175 MH to try just 4 25 watt flourescents in attempt to get my corraline going. Refugium 2 25 watt fl running 20 hrs/day. Main tank lighting runs 12/12.
DIY Calcium reactor
No skimmer for about 3 months now and I'm still happy without it.
Circulation: 1 1800 mag sends 50% through the refugium which surges about every 1.5 min into the main tank. The other 50% directly back into the main tank.
Cooling: I have an exhaust fan ducted to each device to vent the area and evaporate about 3 gallons per day. This keeps my temp low enouth to where I have to add heat to maintain 77
I do 20% water changes about every other week.
