Large Welsh Reef Tank

First you got me all excited about the nig tank you ahd with the massive amounts of fish including the moorish idols. Then, you broke my heart when you were getting divorced and the tank had to go. Lastly, you made me shed a tear when you left the country altogether to come to the US. Now you come out with a little teaser?? :x

Well i finally have taken the plunge and started to get the bits and bobs for my new project. The cabinet and hood are real oak. There is going to be No pumps hopefully in the main display all closed loops so this is what i have planned at the moment.
Maintank
A mere 215 gals :lol:
Sumps
(all sumps to be in the basement)
a couple of huge rubber maids i'm planning on around at least 800 gallons. And knowing me maybe more :wink:
Skimmer
Reef Creations Skimmer (MR-2 ) run with a genx mak4 pump. Plus i have a spare euro reef and large aquac if needed. :roll:
Movement/circulation
2x Genx mak 4 external pumps for the closed loops(1200GPH each). Return pump from basement not decided upon yet. Bulkheads fixed in base and hard piped to the pumps. valves and unions so that they can be removed. All pumps will be in the basement.
Drainage
(main display)
2 overflows(wiers) with durso standpipes as this tank is going to be totally silent 11/2 bulkhead fittings with the 2 overflows blending into a 21/2 or 3 inch down pipe which goes down to the basement. This will exit into a 5 gallon glass tank filled with floss for mechanical filtration. Before entering the multitude of containers/reservoirs :lol:
Lighting
Lighting will consist of a 6ft coralife unit fitted with pc'c with a nice blend of 10k and actinics. This tank is only going to be a well stocked fowlr tank.
COOLING
( hopefully) should not be a problem with all the water down in the basement.
HEATING
Titanium 800 watt digital heater in one of the sumps and a 500 watt in the main display. If more is needed, i will cross that bridge when it is needed.
Filtration
The tank will have 250lbs of live rock which is well matured and which i have run with for well over 14 months. Plus there is going to be 300 pounds of aragonite live sand (120lbs i already have and a further 180 to be picked up soon) There will only be about 2inchs of sand in the main tank. The remainder of the sand will be in all the sumps down in the basement.
REFUGIUM
Maybe? will have to see how much leccy i am drawing first
When i set my 11ft up i made so many mistakes which could not be rectofied after completion. So this has had a lot of brain storming so this tank is going to be correct at the beginning 8). Hopefully this will be started in the next week or so and will be up and running within the next month. When i get my new camera i will start to document it's progress. Broke my last camera last week :evil:
