Updating the information on my currently featured {July 02 "Advanced Aquarist" online magazine} aquarium:
I've added a Macropharyngodon negrosensis {Black Leopard Wrasse} to the system with my big established { for 5 years} female M. meleagris.
Although the established "Common" leopard wrasse had nasty exchanges in the past with other wrasse species, as well as with dottybacks, no aggression between the two different Leopard wrasse species has been observed since initial introduction two weeks ago.
I plan on adding another small juvenile M. meleagris to "push" my mature female to change sex.
Thanks to Henry S. III and John Progno at Marine Oasis for helping me in this endeavor. It's been a while since I've had a new fish addition- as well as something that would fit into my reef fish community harmoniously.
You can see more pics of my featured aquarium at

I also look forward to answering any questions you may have about my system in this forum.

hi, great tank. how hard has it been for you to keep the black leopard. marine depot live lists it as a restricted species. also, i have a solar fairy wrasse and a tricolor wrasse in a 125 reef. i 'd really like to get a regular leopard, in your experience would it it kill the fairy wrasses.
thanks, john

Hi John. Macropharyngodon (Leopard Wrasses) seem to do particularly well in my reef aquarium, probably due to a large 'pod population and the large size of my system.
Leopard Wrasses will co-exist peacefully with Cirrhilabrus Wrasses.

I have had only one out of four leopard wrasse survice the transaction between the LFS to my tank. Any special acculimation, as in more time ( 1/2 hour). I do have a large population of pods in my tank. I dont know any advice will be appreicated.
( Maybe the presence of too many fish is the intimadation factor) :?
