thought i'd share my "little welsh reef" with you guys
poor quality pics and not on the scale or gary thomas's "large welsh reef" but hey,it's doing well with no sump.
1 x deltec mc500 internal skimmer
1 x guiseman german 250w metal halide
45 kk's of fiji live rock.
mainly hard corals now --- traded all my softies
1 x torch euphillia that is going to outgrow the tank soon (3 x growth since set up on my birthday 26.02.2002
loads of sps frags that my useless camera does not show.i have already fragged one purple/pink tipped acropora a few times successfully.
a gorgeous stylophora pistallata pink and white.
2 x clams
pulse coral brown and pink feathered growin like mad (also being traded at lfs)
1 x regal tang
2 x common clowns
2 x chalk gobies.
4 x green chromis
1 x scarlet hawkfish
various other livestock including a couple of starfish (blue+orange black tipped),blue and red legged hermits, various snail,1 boxing crab (that i have only seen twice) 1 x cleaner shrimp
top up with r/o daily (manually)
add calcium/strontium/iodine once a week (manually)
10% water change per callender month
so far the only coral i have lost was a huge bubble coral that died off a few days after the (sharp footed) cleaner shrip was added.
the calcium skeleton ( 6 inches in length by abot 2 inches width/depth ) still has a few tiny 'baby' bubble corals on it,so i have left it in to see.
