my first SPS tank. any comments welcome!

hello!

this is my first sps tank, i enjoyed setting it up and running, and i hope i did everything right!

here is the spec!

50 gallon standard (36X18X18) with a 33 gallon sump (36X18X12)
within the sump, 20 gallon is separated as a refugium.

pump is a Quiet one, internal 1500 gallon/hr with SQUID.
heater (RENA 150W)
sandbed consist of 3 inch fine oolite/argonite
refugium lite = 52 W PC 6500K
Euroreef ES5-3 skimmer
250W Hqi 10000k ballast and bulb
T5 antinics NO with 4 moonlights (1.5W X4)

lighting= 10 hrs Hqi, 12 hrs antinics, 8 hrs moonlights+sumplite

livestock consist of ~

75 Lb of Fiji LR
2 Rose bubbletip anemone
1 deresa clam (ML)
2 Cleaner Shrimps
red/orange Monti cap
yellow Monti cap
green and metallic green star polyps
pinapple corals
plate coral (yellow)
Orange Acropora with blue tip
Brown Acropora (use to have bluetip)
red, green, brown, purple (use to be ) monti digitata
yellow hynophora

Clown Surgeon
Azure Damsels X2
Domino Damsel
3 Stripe damsel
some blue/yellow damsels

chemical supplements:

Kent Part A&B
Mg supplements (seachem, warner marine)
kent Pro dKH


Future Upgrade 8)

1. 2Xseio 620 with aquarium systems wavemaker powerbar (purchased, in shipping)

UPDATE!

New livestock bought!

i just purchase a brain coral, and a crocea clam this weekend.

Equipment upgrade this week include a Aquasafe 100GPD 6 stage RO/DI Unit. the Seio's are in shipping and should be here within 10 days!! can't wait. :wink:

i just hooked up my aquasafe to my sump through a floatvalve... and i just bought another acropora. this one is greenish yellow with orange tip.. let's hope it will not change color on me.. :? 8O

just purchased a metallic green anemone, and a filament stripe prawn goby (hasn't see him for 4 days now...) new picture of my tank! :lol:

The anemone was a nice addition. The bright green catches the eye right away, and a nice contrast to the crocea clam. Looking good

may i ask why your tank's rock has no purpule color? the reason i ask is that sometimes i seen some LR that has nice color, and sometime some LR arrive with no color... however they are from the same origin.... :wink:

I am assuming you are talking to me aussiefishy.

I do have colour, just for some reason from that angle it never caught it.

Most of my rock 98% is from fiji...and ya some does not have lots of purple and some have tons. I have 2% from Vanuatu but it is mostly white, with some red/purple on it.

I just hope mine turns out looking like that once I actuly get started, sump is made picking it up this weekend, and the refugium is being driled this weekend and should have it on monday, then I will buy the salt and pumps and so on and really start this project.
