Rick it will get a lot thicker than tha in a couple weeks.. But I guess you had already taken a lot out because it will grow to the top of the tank connecting to the walls..

It gets weeded down once a month it goes from half full to over filled in about a month

I had that problem in an 8 gallon bio cube, i would have to take it out every two weeks just to keep it under control. looks nice in seahorse tank.

Thats what it is in, and really dont mind it other then all the debris that gets trapped in it

The debris part is unavoidable. I have planted 30XH planted tank with a MP20 and the only thing that keeps the algae clean is my sea hare. It also eats and keep the algae well pruned.
