Hey guys whats up just wanted to show ya all how my tank is looking and my new friends (fish)
Ummmm its 29 gallon with a single fluor. bulb. currently im using a cascade 700 canister filter. which is cleaned weekly. i also have a
powerhead inside the tank for extra motion.
20 lbs of live rock.
cascade 300 HOB filter just for a little extra filtration.
20 lbs sand
40 lbs live sand.
200 watt heater.
fishs that i have
1 clownfish
1 yellow tang
1 blue hippo tang
Tank water quality
-ammonia - 0 ppm
-nitrites - 0 ppm
-nitrates - 5 ppm
yes i no they are going to get big and fast. thats why i began starting up my new 75 gallon tank with one 48" actnic bulb and 48" floures. bulb.
my plans for this i made a custom overflow for my 29 gallon from a old HOB filter. going to add a sump to the 29 gallon with a skimmer i want this tank to be a show tank mainly because its in my room and its already a beautiful tank. well i think so.
in the 10g sump i have it cut off 3 partitions 2 smaller and the middle larger. in the middle im going to have live sand and live rock with the skimmer. and the left partition is water is going to be comming in from. and the right is were the water is going to be going out from. i plan on utilizing the cascade 700 canister filter for a pump to bring the water back to the main tank and also for a little extra filtration. already tryed it out down in my basement with an eheim canister filter and worked lovely. I figure i cant fit a 20 gallon sump in a walmart stand that i had bought for this 29 gallon. but anyways take a look at the pics that i have posted and let me know what you all think. its been alot of hard work but this is my 1st saltwater tank and its been up and running for about a month now. it has cycled and i am completely happy with the results.
one of my main concerns is the sand. what should i get to keep the sand white and dietrus free and recommendations will be greatly appreciated. i was thinking a goby or sumting like that. please respond to this asap cause i want to go to the lfs tommorow before i have to go into work at 1 pm thanks for everything in advance..
