This will be a Zoanthid species tank. (Well I mights slip a mushroom or two in it later on)

55 US gallon glass tank by Marineland. 46" x 11" x 18" (Inside)
Base Filtration: 5 to 6 inches of sand (100 pounds) 25 pounds of crushed coral as substrate.
About 50 pounds of various types of live rock (carribean, marshall etc.)
Emperor power filter with one pound of carbon (changed monthly)

Water flow: Two Regent powerheads rated at 170 GPH and the powerfilter rated at 400 GPH so about 550 actual flow. (Adding two maxijet 1200 in the near future.)

Lighting: Coralife Aqualight Power compact hood 2 x 65 watt 10,000 k and 2x Actinic (260 watt total)

Remora Pro skimmer with magdrive 3 pump (to be added).

Pictures to follow. It looks bare and drab now but in the future... :D

The first Zoa to kind of test the waters so to speak. Seems to be doing ok opening fully and color is a lot darker than when I brought it home. It was a very bleached/pale little bugger a few days ago.

Quick update.

Did a complete battery of tests today.
Specific Gravity 1.25
Temp. 82
PH 8.2
DKH 12
Calcium 420
Amonia 0
Nitrte 0
Nitrate 0

Started a dosing of b-ionic twice a week and testing.
Have some corriline alga growing on the glass now so I think Im ok to start building my corals. Nothing decent at the fish stores today. May have to resort to online buying, or maybe find someone in central fl to buy a frag or two off of.

Zebrasoma scopas and Royal Gramma finnish QT today so in they went. So far doing really well. Damsels have been removed. (What a pita that was)
One more fish, a Flame Angel will complete the fish list but it wont be added for 3 or 4 months yet.

Should have enough saved to get the Remora skimmer next week. Will update and take new pictures then.

If anyone lives in central fl and has some zoa,s they want to sell drop me a pm.

Looking good, lots of potential. Looks like you have a bit of a cyano problem at the moment though?

You need to get you some Chemi-Clean to clear up that cyano problem. Worked for me.

Make sure you do the water change as directed after treatment. It will come back if you do not do this.
