This has been set up since november 2006. and it is my first
I had the tank and don't know exact gallons so the best i can figure is it is some where between 40 and 44g. It is a corner tank and can't seem to find the exact measurements anywhere on the web. It was brand new and had it sitting around for 7 years unfilled (it was my ex's). Finally moved into a permanent house (not renting) so i decided to fill it and go reef. My (new) husband said he would get me all the suff i needed as a birthday present but didn't know the its the kind of present he would constantly be adding to
.
40-44g corner tank
40-45 lbs of live fugi rock
5 pounds of tonga branch
40 lbs of live sand
1 heater (will be getting a second for back up in future)
whisper 3 filter (came with tank. I know i need a better filter
)
coralife 65g skimmer
1 aqua clear 50 powerhead with filter-270gph
1 powersweep 228 power head with pre-filter -270gph
1 powersweep 226 powerhead with pre-filter 190 gph
2 individual light fixture both 18" perfecto T8 fluorscent one with ge
aquarays fresh and saltwater 9325K and one with a saltwater blue
10000K
I was give an actinic and will try that instead of the saltwater blue
the blue and the actinic together make the tank look too blue
I know i need better lighting but need to get by until i can afford it
Fish and invert. stock:
2 cleaner shrimp
2 green chromis
5 scarlet crabs
3 turbo snails
6 nassarius snails
1 cerith smail
1 bubble tip anemone
will be adding 2 ocellaris clowns next week
1 royal gamma
1 yellow watchman goby ( with personality!
)
I am hoping, someday when my kids play room reverts back to my dining room, to put in a tank somewhere around 150- 200 gals
UPDATE: 4/10/07 Just purchased a Coralife Power Compact fluorescent light with 2 65w bulbs. 1 actinic and 1 10000K with 2 lunar lights. Wanted a MH but couldn't afford. got this for $100..couldn't pass it up! at least it is better than the ones i have now
