I originally got into the hobby looking to house an aggressive only tank. After doing research I determined the best filtration system would be DSB and live rock. Then began leaning towards a non aggressive FOWLR with possibility of a reef setup. I started with a 75 gal and 30gal sump. I soon gave up because I did not measure my spacing for the sump and did not take into account problems with my overflow box. The sump was not easily accessible because it was to tall for the openings in my home made stand. The only fish I ever had in this 75 was a firefish! He was loving life!

I left the sand and rock stagnant in the tank w/o heat or light for about a year untill my brother/roommate got sick of looking at the mess.

I decided to set it back up only this time I decided on a pre-drilled 55 and a 40 sump.

Specs after 3 months of setup:
Plenum with 3-5' sand bed main tank.
About 50-60lbs LR in main tank. Mostly Fiji some about 8 lbs Alor 3lbs Tonga branch 3lbs Vanuatu
40-50 lbs of Fiji in sump with another DSB
turboflotor 1000 skimmer
lights- 48'' 40w actinic -03 blue 420nm and 48" 40w standard florescent daylight
sump lights- 24" 65w 10,000k 460nm smartpaq

I will reply with the fish I've added soon. Don't know the specific names of them all.
