HI Guys!
My first tank: 29 gal. fish and live rock tank. I'm keeping 2 porcupine puffers, a stars and stripes puffer, a stripped dog face puffer, a valentine puffer, a large Hermit, and a psychedellic mandarin. This has been up 6 years. It's a temp. home for all the puffers as they are small now.

Second Tank: 95 gal Reef tank. Metal halides ,moon lights, attnics, all that expensive lighting. I have a little live rock this tank is still new I set it up in augest 07.I have a few corals: bubble, sun coral, toadstool, candy cane, a few polyps, ricordia, and mushrooms. my coral is not doing well I'm doing somthing wrong.
Fish: Orange shoulder tang, hippo tang, half black angel, pygmy angel, pair of pink skunk clowns, clarkii clown, clown goby, olive mandarin, midas blenny 2 or more pearly jaw fish. lobster, 2-3 porcilin anenome crabs.Fire shrimp, fox face tang, maroon clown, worst mistake---Dog Face Puffer! HE hasn'e killed anything yet. I see how he behaves.[/b]

you have a 29 gallon tank that you keep 5 puffers in? do you have a pic?

you also have a lot of fish in the 95.
your corals might not be doing well due to the non-reef safe angels and puffer picking at them.
it could also be that your bio load exceeds your capacity.
what are you using for filtration in this tank?
are you testing your water parameters?

Hi,
Thanks for having intrest in my setups. My puffer tank has puffers that are all pretty small right now, so everything in that tank is going very well. I still would rather give them a larger space which i'm trying to put in place. The reason it hasn't happened yet is because I still live with my parents and they will not allow me to put up any more tanks. But I'll figure it out. As for the 95 reef, I'm mad at myself that I put the large puffer in there it was really against gut. The corals were doing badly before I put him in. I havn't checked my peramiters in awhile. To my surprise, The puffer has not bothered anything yet.
I need to start dosing my tank for the coral, I need to find a good place on the net to get calcium and the other elements. Well I going to keep working on it and mabye I'll get rid of the big guy. I just bought a bio cube for my seahorses so that is also a work in progress. Well I've got alot of work ahead of me I'll talk to you later.

why do you need to get calcium and other elements? if you don't check your water parameters, how do you know you need them?
all the corals you mentioned aren't going to pull alot of Ca out of the water, so i bet it's something else.
when was the last time you did a water change?

Hey, girl! I'll bet your parents would be more receptive to your setting up another tank if you offered to pay the power bill. Give them the money up front now for February, and make a deal to pay it on the 25th of the every month. Then, I'm sure they will let you set up a seahorse tank in your room, too!

Be sure to post some photos when you do. I love to see other's tanks! Especially seahorse tanks!

Hi guys,
Well I bought another tank! Since my parents wouldn't let me set- up the 29 bio cube, I got the 14 gal last night. Thanks for the advice but I already offered to pay for the electric bill they weren't havin it. I also tried the room idea that didn't work either. It doesn't make sense anyway because they let me put up the 14 and not the 29, they both put out electricity. Oh well, the 14 is up and running with the water from my 95 gal. tank and the horses are in. I just have to try and make the current alittle lighter. I will try and take some pics this week. The reason I thought I might need Calcium is because I only added it for like a week then ran out. I was told that I had to dose with calcium, strontonium, and iodide. I need to buy a calc test kit I don't even have one. Ok time for bed. I'll keep you updated.
