its been 8 days into cycling. my skimmer is running too.

ammonia:0
nitrite:0
nitrate:25-50

could this be done cycling?

Sounds like it. Did you see you ammonia and nitrites go up? If you did then it sounds like you're tank is cycled. Do a water change, to bring down the nitrates, and and start to stock slowly.

yea raw shrimp was in my tank for 4-5 days, it rotted. my ammonia was at 2, nitrite was around 25-50. im so excited. But before i do w/c, im going to add another 100lbs of sand. should i do it before or after?

I would add the LS and then wait a couple of days and see if you have a spike or maybe even a small cycle. If you don't then do the water change to bring the Nitrates down.

wait, i dont know if EVS grade sand are LS? if not, dont i have to wait until it becomes live?
