tank is filled with water now...no leaks no glass cracking up.....im gonna bond all those abrasions up with small cut or one long strip of 1/2 glass and silicone to create an outside brace and inside as well....i think this will work....im gonna corner brace it
if not ill get someone to weld metal braces around the intire thing.............

I don't think anybody here is saying it will fail immediately. However, nobody wants to see you succeed for 8 months and then suddenly have a 90 gallon catastrophic failure.

If you can sleep comfortably at night knowing the condition of the tank and the potential consequences, then let the force be with you. I lose sleep over lesser concerns :sad2:

neptune, there is no way of bracing that at all so it doesn't crack. This isn't wood or metal. Glass works completely different. You can't reinforce a piece of glass that has a chip so that it will not have some chance of cracking. The chip is there along with the vibrations in the glass that come with it. Think of it like a crack in a rock, but the crack is invisible .... dunno if that helps.

....metal brace, more 1/2 inch pieces or strips of glass, siliconing the chip, adding another piece of glass inside all will do nothing to fix the fact that there is a bad chip in the tank that can possibly lead to one side cracking on you. Either way the only way to get the tank fixed is replacing the panels that are chipped. Get 1/2 inch normal glass if you want to cut costs but it looks like more than one side has chips.

sounds good...and i thought of that but the frame is 1/2 all around and its 48...1/2
by 18....1/2 wide....i really dont think its nessesary....nothing is breaking the seals and the chips are not ratiating any cracks .....im getting rid of it because i suck when it comes to repairs..and i dont want to make anything worse so ...whoever wants to make me an offer....718-796-1607
