I got into the saltwater hobby about 7 months after I kept my planted tank successfully. I saw one of my friend's tanks and was tempted to learn and have my own reef tank. Once I moved to my new apt I got myself a tank that is the same height as my planted 50G tank once on the stand. It happens that the AGA 37G tank was the one. Note to self, never buy such a tall tank and never buy a tank to accomodate the size of another tank. :duh:

Well my very hated 37G tank is now maturing as a mini reef and I'm starting to like it more and more as it settles in. Only when I work on the tank I start to bang my head again since my arm length are relatively short and its quite difficult to reach to the bottom of the tank. As for tank specs, here it goes:

Tank: AGA 37G Tank
Light: Sundial T5HO [Switching to a 6 Bulb Tek Fixture soon or MH/T5 Fixture Combo "depending on funding"]
Powerheads: Koralia 2 & Koralia 3
Filter: Rena filstar XP3 ( Runs Only Carbon on all 3 trays - changed monthly)

Sump:
Lifereef Overflow Box with Aquasilencer
20G Long SUMP Built with Fuge
Skimmer: AquaMedic TurboFlotor Multi SL (Hang on or In Sump) w/ OC2700
Return: Eheim 1260

LiveStock:
Yellow Tang (1") Baby
Yellow Rose Antennae Shrimp Goby
Orange Spotted Shrimp Goby
PJ Cardinal
Harlequin Shrimp
Peppermint Shrimp
CoCo Worm
& my CUC (Astreas, Nassarius, Ceriths, Blue Legg Hermits & Zebra Hermits)

Corals:
Softies:
Mushrooms (blue, red, green striped, dotted)
Kenya Tree
Zoas (5 Types for now)
Button Polyps
PomPom Xenia
Firecracker Tree
Ricordias
Metallic Green Torch
Purple Tip Frogspawn
Acans (3 variety)
Duncans
Alveopora
orange Digi
Blue Tort
Blue Milli
purple rim green monticap
Green Birdsnest

Pics Coming.

Today's 37G SW Tank:

Sorry for the poor quality pics, im learning to take pictures too. I'm not sure how to take pics with th atinics on; everything just looks blue. Well hope you all like the tank - suggestions, recommendations, ideas are welcomed.

Even criticism - its all about learning :tongueani

Before you all kill me; yes I do have a 1" Tang - but it'll be moved in a few months since I do plan on upgrading my tank - Hence the equipment in my sump are already too powerful for my 37G.

Thanks Froggie, the way I scaped it is actually viewable on 3 sides of the tank. I tried to add more cliffs ( which I call shelving space) so i have levels to place certain corals. I tried to maximize the room so the fish can swim on two different levels top and bottom level of the tank and between caves ( hideouts). I can't wait to stock more, but I limit myself to stock only once a month per coral which gives my wallet some time and the corals some time.

Henry, good job on your tank. Nice frogspawn and Green toadstoal. :lol_large
I also like your freshwater planted tank.
Thought you are upgrading to a 75g.

HAHA Alan, those are nice corals

Yea, I was going to upgrade to a 75G soon, but plans are held off since funding is low with todays economy :irked: and my circuit in my house the power always die on me so Im revamping my apts power circuits so I wont have power outages for no reason and for safety reasons.

better be safe than sorry.
