Deep water zoas have a large yellow ring surrounding the mouth with a blue center. Also the skirt has a purple base and yellow tips. What David has are definitely Purple Hornets. You can tell by the thin yellow ring around the mouth and the alternating purple and yellow skirt tips. Plus, deep water zoas would melt under the 250watt halides David has them under.

Marteen ... considering where I have the Hornet's growing about 8" from the light ... they would have melted from day 1 :biglaugh:

Dhaut ... Thank you soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much for the drill. yeah ... I already put a hole right through my wall ... I got a little overly excited and ... well ... yeah ... time to fix that one up ;) Also did you know glass can shatter? ........................ LMAO!!!! ... I will start drilling into the canopy and hang up my lights today ... hopefully I won't drill through my hand! :D

LOL...yeah, don't try drilling glass with those bits I gave you. glass-holes.com will hook you up. Also, be sure to find out if the glass is tempered - you CAN'T drill tempered glass.

I love drilling. So therapeutic. I actually drilled through my hand when I was building my stand a few months ago. It sucks. Don't do it.

Hahahahahaha ... Man I think I clogged up my vacuum with shattered glass ... what did you say about it being tempered again ... :dead1::teeth::lol_large

that would not be good for a violinist...........

you won't be able to dose the tank with that special protein....hahaha...lollollol.......(in reference to the story you told me about certain bodily fluid some guy was dosing his tank with).

Yeah no kidding Tom ... especially for what the hand is really needed for ... ;) I still cannot believe someone did that ... geez ... what was he thinking ... however I would like to see before and after shots (not during) of this "special" dosing
