So always having nothing smaller then a 55 growing up, and going all the way to a 265 gallon custom. I’m now down grading to a nano.
Well not really a nano, its a 40 gallon breeder.
This is pretty much my layout as I have been thinking.
Here’s my concept for a 40 gallon breeder nano coral tank with 4 or so small fish.
My idea for the tank set up is a 1inch bulkhead in the center with a strainer for the drain. Followed by ? inch bulkheads on each side of the tank for my returns with ?inch locline 3inch flare nozzle . All plumbed down to my 40 gallon sump with refugium.
The return bump is a mag 9 that I can throttle back a bit if need be with a ball valve and a T to branch off pressure to the refugium.
The skimmer is my MRC 2R feed by a mag 3.
Lights will be 36” currents USA nova extreme pro.
Anyone got opinions on this set up?

i have a 1" drain with a mag 7 for return and it is throttled 1\2 back is the fuge going to be a separate tank from sump ?
No, its a single unit sump running dual 1 inch intakes thru a bubble tower that?s part of the skimmer chamber. Water travels thru three baffles to the return chamber. on the left side is the refugium.
I forgot to add that off the return pump is not a true T, its a four way T, or as some call it a 3/4" cross fitting. The cross fitting will sit above the return pump then a union ball valve. Off the left outlet, it will over flow into the refugium for better cheato turn over and the right outlet will be re-feeding into the skimmer feed pump. If need be, I can throttle back the pump a little.
