It's amazing how quickly a year flies by!
Not much has changed in this tank except for some growth by the anemones. I was sorely disappointed that the purple LTA didn't make it (there
was a sand bed in the tank at the time), I tried everything and nothing helped.
I did finally move the green BTA into the tank and over the past year it has split into 2. It is very cool at night as it has different color tips, hopefully I can get that on film and post it.
The exact same fish are in there along with the CBS, no changes there. :fish: I did add a Red Brittle Star and usually see a leg sticking out from behind the anemones every now & then, so I know he's ok.
I did change the skimmer a week or so ago- thanks Jon Robbins. I traded for a Tunze 9010 and it cost me Siamese Twin Leprechauns, but was well worth the trade
I added phosban & carbon reactors after I had some issues with the Marco rocks. Apparently I got some from that talked about batch that had high phosphates and the algea battle was hellish for a while. I ended up having to change some of the rocks out to my old rock from my 33g Oceanic (which is what I broke down to put this tank up). With that rock came part of that purple sponge you see down in the front center. Fine by me, its a slow grower and a nice color.
While I do have an AC Jr for this tank, I haven't gotten around to hooking it up yet since the light has it's own controls. The top off is a Kent Aquadoser that sits above the tank and takes care of the evaporation one drip at a time (yeah I have an
ATO for it, and I'll get around to that one of these days..).
I didn't add the
Vortech to this tank. Well, I tried but in the first 2 minutes it was on - it sucked the LTA upwards and that was it for me. The only flow in this tank is provided by the Marineland Utility return pump and I don't think the anemones could care less
..and yes, one of my covers is on the tank
Not many different ways to take a pic of a 45g tank, so you're just getting one..lol
As always..thanks for looking
