Hey Guys:
It's 6:30am and I had to get up to take my meds... The surgery went much better than the last time. This time around I am not in agony although I am getting REAL tired of eating soup. (I had my wisdom teeth removed and they had to cut into bone) Also, this time around the pain meds are much better. ;-)
The tank is doing GREAT. I just added a regal angel and the resident damsel bully has been giving him a hard time. Hopefully today the damsels come out... Good luck Tim! I look forward to seeing the angel out and about the tank. It is a REAL beauty!
Oh, in an effort to get the damsels I picked up two pieces of eggcrate to divide the tank (That way we dont have to tear down the whole tank!) I will only need one piece when we are done to build a barrier/cover around the edge of the tank top. If the guy that needed a small piece still needs it you are welcome to one...
The new 400W Metal Halides have really made a difference. The oscillating heads have also been a big plus in my opinion and keep things very healthy. Plus I have changed my viewpoint of "low impact skimming". It took a while for my system to get acclimated, but my water has been crystal clear with what I would have considered to be UNDER-skimming of my tank a few years ago. I have also tried out Eric Borneman's advice concerning feeding of the tank and so far I have had nothing but good side effects!
On a sad note, my anemone had a feast on one of my anthias. :-( I think the resident bully probably scared it into the carpet. I saw it "spitting out" the bones. After I get rid of the damsels I will pick up another female.
