I've always wanted to have a saltwater aquarium. One day as usuall I went into a LFS just to check their livestock and was shocked by the rainbow of colors the marine fishes and corals had. I told my self I was going to learn little by little how to built and maintain a healthy salt water aquarium BUT I was going
to stay with a nano tank; so I started with a 5 gallon but then decided to have a 20 long,a couple of months after I was tired of a small tank since I wanted way more fishes than what I had so I upgraded to a 55 gallon tank and I still wasn't satisfied... So I searched and searched and found just what I wanted ...A 90 gallon tank with a black wood stand and it's matching canopy. I def. Had to buy it, so I DID...

This is how I started...(just a empty tank with a couple of fishes)

AND THIS Is How it is now
(hope you like it)

I'm basically new to all this... So I'll be more than glad to hear your Opinions & advices on how to maintain this tank healthy(what to dose, how to dose, what do I need to buy, what's good and what's bad)I want to know if I'm in the right track
thanks
by the way sorry for the pic quality .. I took them from my phone

My tank it's Currently running with a wet-dry filter but instead of bioballs I put live rock since I heard it creates alot of nitrates, also have a uv sterilizer and a I.O seaclone protein skimmer which I want to change because I don't think it's a hood skimmer for my tank size, currently have 120+ lbs of LR and about 70 of LS
I goals with this tank is to have a nice looking tank with nice fishes ,some soft corals, GSP, zoas and mushrooms.. Not ready for sps at all
so far I'm dosing and testing

Good news to hear you unloaded the cowfish. In addition to coral nipping, they are a fish for the extremely advanced aquarist. They do unbelievably poorly in aquariums. When they die they can wipe out an entire tank.

I agree (and most here on MR will too) that your Sea Clown Skimmer is something needing replacing.

Nice start though.

russ no way that skimmer is the bomb!!! "it has a cool tornado effect bubble reaction thingy" as pet co will tell you since thats all they carry for skimmers and sell them for 80 bucks!!! thats got to be the best! haha jkjk

yes skimmer needs some help. and id cut on that top box in your filter and put a filter sock in it as well. all other pads will just hold nitrates all day...
