Here is the latest picture.

Traded in my damsel for 2 clowns and everyone is playing well. I am thinking about taking a trip over to Manhattan Aq this weekend to see what the selection of frags looks like. Everything in the tank is looking good. The gonipora goes through phases with being open and then being completely shut for weeks at a time. The same with the Duncan (bottom middle). The duncan at one point was flourshing with heads open everywhere then completely shrunk and changed colors from light green/white to red and is now back to the green and open with heads everywhere.

LEt me know what you think.

Ive got a few snails in there and they do a decent job. Also, got home from work last night and one clown was dead and the other was floundering then later died. It looked as if one of the corals stung them. While the floundering one was swimming around on its last breath, it got pushed by the current into the paylthoa (front botom left) and it looked as if it was shocked as soon as it touched. I didnt think that the playthoa would cause any harm to the fish. Did a good amount of research also. Sad day - I will be fishless in the tank for a few months now.

Get some Turbo Snails in there to eat all that algae up.

They should still address the problem as to WHY so much algae is growing

Fly, are you testing for anything other than Ca and pH? How much and how often do you feed and do water changes? You definitely should check your NO3 and PO4 (find someone who is willing to test your PO4 with a colorimeter, 'normal' titration test kits just don't produce accurate answers). How long as your tank been set up?

I do test Ca and pH, most recently as last Tues/Wed I believe. Calcium was around 440 and pH I believe was 8.4 or 8.2 Cant remember off the top of my head.

Tank has been set up for about 2 years at this point.

Do palythoas normally do this? Am i completely wrong in my assumption that is why the clowns died? I will do a full test tonight again but dont have a NO3 or PO4 test kit,.

no, I was asking if you test anything besides those two parameters. I'm not sure what you're asking about the palys, what are they doing? Perhaps you could post a thread on here and see if anyone local is willing to test your water for you, because knowing just the Ca and pH doesn't really help with the algae situation.
