Yo Grim I think that's a bad idea. If you cut the center brace your tank will bow in the middle and bust from the pressure.

On the 55gal I'm running a Remora C Skimmer, 15gal Refugium, 2 Maxi Jet 1200 Powerheads, Got the Metal Halide 300W 20,000k... The Nano I'm just doing Weekly water change of 1gal. and the corals are going crazy... I got crazy outbreak of Sun Polyps its sick....
