But in the future, if I were to get a Sohal, can't I just buy him smaller so he wont do anything?

First, nobody here will support the idea of buying a fish that you are not able to keep until fully grown. Very often that bigger tank never happens.

Second, you wont believe how fast sohal's grow. I've had my PB about 3 years, and it's grown from 3 to 6" in that time.

I've had my sohal about 1 year. It's grown from 3 inches to an 8" menacing monster. Undisputed king of the tank. He keep everyone else in line. Please don't buy a "small" sohal for your 90. You'll regret it.

NO no, I'm not, what I was tryin to ask is, when I have my 210 up and running the the near future, then can I get him smaller then my other fish, so he wont attack everything? I am assuming if I get the Sohal smaller, the other fish will probably keep him in check as it grows. Is this correct?

Once he grows to about 12" or so he'll start to turn very aggressive and attack the other fish. In a 210gal tank it will be fine but your going to have problems keeping other fish with it so if that the way your want to go then you need to plan what other fish you want. Also moving the rock and stuff around doesn't work long term with aggressive fish, specially once they start to feed.

If a Sohal is the fish that you want you need to plan out what other fish your going to keep with it. Larger Angels, Trigger, Groupers and eel usally make good tank mates. Fish like tangs, butterfly, rabbit fish usally don't make good tank mates.

It's a good possible that may happen but the Sohal will probably leave them alone because of the size difference, the Sohal being so much larger, but probably when you go to feed them that when the Sohal will attack them until the food is placed in the tank. On the other hand most fish will leave Hippo tangs alone, different shape then most fish, and Hippo tends to hang around by the rocks in one area, often locking themselves in place. So the Hippo probably will be ok.
