Not the best picture:

Had him for a year, I think it's getting too big for the tank.

No, it's not green. That cyno encrusted overflow box is 7" wide. At times he can get a bit unruly

oooo, maybe a H.magnifica then? If it is, it's going to get much much much bigger (like 30" wide) 8O :P

Yeah, I assume it is H.magnifica. 30" wide, I am an idiot. Tank upgrade isn't scheduled for another 2 years.

It sure can suck down the tiger shrimps and sea scallops.

I'm still bidding for E. quadricolor... it looks very much like most of the green BTAs I've had.

Where is it attached? Can you see its foot?

Its foot is attached underneath the overflow box, flat surface.

I have red/green color deficiency so if I should be looking for hints of green, I can't see them.

Some of the tentacles have what look to be bulbs, but they are closer to the mouth and not near the tips.

Based on its foot and habit, I am 99% certain it is a green BTA. Its not unusual for them to be more on the brown side either. If it splits, it will probably reform the bubble-tips for a while until it grows a bit larger again.

A picture of mine (more green in this image):

Cool, thanks. I can't see any green in yours either, but I believe you.

My clown fish won’t go anywhere near it

Give it time, it frequently takes clowns quite a while to take to non-normal host anemones, but frequently will.

What kind of clowns? Have you tried... persuading them? *end Russian accent*
There are several methods with about as much scientific clout (that I know of) as dragons and flying monkeys and Bush's positive IQ, but I think Ive had mild success with my attempted Ocellaris/RBTA combo (before the anemone suddenly died for reasons yet unbeknownst to me)... The little jerks still prefer pestering my Torch in any case... ARGH. Little bastardos...

I have successfully had 3 pairs of percula (true) in BTAs over the past 6 years. And also a pair of skunk clowns. Most entered the anemones within a couple of weeks. I have found its much harder to get the captive raised clowns to take though.

I only have one clown (Amphiprion p.) and he was tank raised at Tropicorium.

I really don't mind, they are both interesting critters on their own. The clown has done well for the two years I have had the tank and the BTA looks good after a year.
