a fish-trap I could borrow? I need to get rid of a 4 inch hippo tang who is just spastic and suspected of killing a new addition to my tank.... a blue spotted jawfish (to replace the one that jumped several months ago) who took up residence where the hippo sleeps at night....

thanks,
James

I have a homemade one if interested James. You know you can make one from a cut out top 2 liter pepsi bottle with the nipple cut off. Takes less than 30 minutes to make including the gluing with icey gel.

this one is the biggest fish in the tank and is pretty bossy. i think the problem was with the jawfish finding refuge in the spot the hippo sleeps. i wont up in the middle of the night and saw the hippo there and the jawfish missing. i came home from work today and found the body of the jawfish completely white, missing its tail and looking pretty horrible even for a dead fish. i feel bad but the hippo has to go.

I doubt it's a fish that killed mine/yours.

That was my Bluespot Jawfish. I have an insane clean up crew (obviously). They had quite the Snicker Bar feast. I'd have to ask them how it tasted.

Not sure why he died either. No heavy respiration or anything but then again it was the first 24 hours I had him so it could've been a plethora of things.

Aznt, You could very well be right, I am assuming it is the hippo because of his aggression and what I saw in the night. It was a new fish, he was fine the first 6 hours until lights out, I think that is when the problem started. Either way the hippo is way too aggressive for a hippo and I will be fishing when I get home.
