Breaking Marco rocks? Reshaping?

Hi I have some large Marco rocks that will not fit in my fluval edge. What can I do to reshape them? What kind of Tools could I use too break them?

A hammer and chisel.

Bone cutters or a hammer and large flat head screwdriver.

or you can do what Anthony falco recommends for fragging and just drop the rock and let it break naturally.

Dump them off your balcony. Works great for breaking rocks and coconuts.

MAke sure you tie them in an old pillowcase before dropping them. You don't want the peices all over the yard.

Using a hammer and chisel will allow you to break the rocks more precisely. Throwing the rock out of a window may leave you with more rubble than rock.

Hammer and chisel or wrap in an old towel/blanket and whack it with a hammer.

Pretty much anything; they're relatively soft. Drill, chisel, hack, hammer, pry bar, hacksaw -- whatever.

first. hammer and chissel dude..second, y not try the first floor first.. itll break into nothing if u go 30ft up.. good luck.. actually post before and after pics this should be fun! lol

I put them in a pillow case and tossed it from second floor lol. Pics to follow tonight when I get home. 1 HR or so

heres the before and after pictures. heres the two large rocks in my nano wave 9 before they were chucked from the second floor lol. My girl insisted on using the edge because of the design. so far i like it.

anyways the center piece lays flat on top of each piece acting like a bridge and i added pieces of rubble on top of it. right now they are just laying on it. i would like to permanently attach them....should i glue or epoxy them? can anyone tell me what to use? Something that has very little cure time.

Cold Chisel Set

To form shapes with the rock you've got, just use a set of Cold Chisel's (as seen below), and a Dome Headed Brick Bolsters Chisel and don't forget the Plugging Chisel.

Don't forget to look at these rocks with a creative eye as seen below.

With all of this done right you should be able to construct a masterpiece (even if he looks a bit stiff :sgrin: )
