could be from a reduction in lighting (shortened photoperiod or old blubs), or increased nutrients (too much fish poop). Be more aggresive in keeping your water quality over the next month and the color should lighten up for you.....ie more water changes, micron bags changed more frequently, skim wet, carbon etc..

"Good" is not a good explination for your water quality. What are your nitrate and phosphate readings? Cal and alk and magnesium? How often do you clean an algae film off the glass? Ho do the rest of your SPS look?

Even after testkits read 0 there is a sub level that you cannot test for but you can see with observations to algae growth and coral color :D

In general corals turn brown because high nutrients spur zooxanthellae growth (brown in color) inside the coral.
