damsels change color?

Do damsels change color? i got a black and white one that just changed to black and gray it looks dead but i dont think so. Im new with salt water let me know if this happens.....

I've noticed that after extended periods of darkness (24+ hours) my clownfish look rather pale, but they brighten up after a few hours of light.

They do change colors for many reasons.

its scary to see a domino all white.. death soon follows.

My damsels need to turn colors and die. Ive been trying to get them out of my tank for months with no luck.lol

Please post a picture:

-Many of the species look different in it's juvenile phase versus their adult fully grown phase.

-With regards to the comments mentioned above, fish do change colors when sleeping or when stressed. The changes vary by fish type. (ie. Yellow Tang, whitens up a bit and the white line becomes more pronounced). Think of it this way... humans change color under circumstances right? Blood flow and other bodily parts function differently with different variables.
